Poland advances biotech commercialization and science outreach efforts

A recent episode of the university podcast "WZ-ka z biznesem" featured Katarzyna Buszkowska and Marta Winiarska, president of the Polish Association of Innovative Biotech Companies (BioInMed). They discussed the challenges of moving Polish scientific discoveries to market, the regulatory and investment landscape, and announced a new postgraduate program in Management and Commercialisation of Life‑Science Projects aimed at equipping researchers and entrepreneurs with the skills needed to bring the first innovative drug developed by a Polish company to patients.

Separately, Prof. Katarzyna Siuzdak of the Institute of Flow Machines of the Polish Academy of Sciences highlighted her dual role as a researcher and science communicator. She co‑runs the popular Instagram account @science_mission, where she explains materials research for sensors and solar‑energy conversion in accessible terms, emphasizing the importance of sharing scientific knowledge with a broader audience.
