Poland advances local infrastructure projects in Gdańsk port and Słupsk city

Port Północny, a bulk‑handling terminal in Gdańsk, has launched a 10 million‑euro investment to build two flat‑roof warehouses for biomass pellet storage. Each hall will be about 4,000 m², giving a combined capacity of roughly 50,000 t of pellet. The facilities, equipped with temperature, humidity and fire‑risk monitoring, are slated to start construction in September 2026 and become operational by the end of 2026/27.

In the city of Słupsk, work has begun on the first of two rain‑water retention basins planned for the new northern industrial zone. The initial basin at the Grunwaldzka‑Rejtana intersection holds 630 m³, with a second 173 m³ basin to follow at the Czesława Miłosza‑Rejtana crossing. Together they will capture runoff from a 9‑hectare area, reducing flood risk for downstream neighbourhoods as part of a broader effort that includes new roads and additional storm‑water infrastructure.
