Poland implements widespread infrastructure and military updates
Poland is undergoing various regional infrastructure developments and military preparations. Significant road projects include the full opening of the S1 expressway between Bieruń and Oświęcim, the final stages of a pedestrian-cyclist path between Ozimek and Grodziec, and the modernization of Piaskowa Street in Suwałki. Other ongoing works involve the reconstruction of DK75 near Nowy Sącz, the renovation of the Rusko-Strzyżewko road, and maintenance on the A1 motorway in the Łódź region.
In the transport sector, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe is modernizing the Malbork-Elbląg railway line, including new platforms at Królewo Malborskie. Additionally, the Świnoujście marina is closed until March 2027 for pontoon replacement.
On a security and environmental level, the Polish military is preparing for the ‘Czarny Obrońca ’26’ exercises, which will involve heavy equipment moving through the Pomeranian, Lubuskie, and West Pomeranian provinces starting September 14. Meanwhile, the Sireco Foundation is organizing an e-waste collection campaign in Chojna, Trzcińsko-Zdrój, and Myślibórz, offering plants in exchange for electronic waste.
