Poland advances regional railway modernization and new station projects

Poland is advancing several railway infrastructure projects aimed at improving regional connectivity. On the line between Bielsko-Biała and Skoczów, revitalization efforts are underway. Following technical inspections by PKP PLK, experts are analyzing existing infrastructure to determine which elements can be reused. This approach aims to reduce the estimated project cost from 719 million PLN toward the original 350 million PLN target. Tenders for construction are expected in early 2027, with a projected completion date in 2029.

In the Świętokrzyskie region, PKP PLK has allocated nearly 25 million PLN for the renovation and creation of seven new railway stops on the Połaniec-Staszów-Kielce line. Key developments include the return of passenger services to Chmielnik via a new platform near the Dygasińskiego housing estate, and the establishment of the Staszów-Wschód stop. These improvements are intended to complement bus networks and provide faster transit options to Kielce and other major cities.
