Poland allocates 23 million PLN to rural Volunteer Fire Departments

The results of the ‘Bezpieczna Wieś’ (Safe Village) competition have been announced, providing nearly 23 million PLN in funding to support rural Volunteer Fire Departments (OSP). Out of a record 6,000 applications, 1,792 units have been selected to receive financial support from the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (FSUSR).

Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski stated that the funds are sourced from farmers, who also support these rural fire units. The program is structured around three pillars: support for Youth Firefighting Teams (MDP) with up to 5,000 PLN for equipment, and the ‘Professional Firefighter’ pillar, which provides up to 15,000 PLN for rescue and firefighting equipment, such as breathing apparatus, drones, and thermal imaging cameras.

Qualified units are advised to monitor the Witkac system for the generation of their contracts and to follow the signing instructions provided on the Fund's website.
