Poland and Croatia announce 2027 Eurovision selection rules
Poland and Croatia have released the rules and timelines for their national selections to determine their representatives for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest in Burgas, Bulgaria.
Telewizja Polska (TVP) has introduced updated regulations for the Polish selection process following previous controversies. New rules include a restriction to one vote per telephone number during the final to prevent manipulation. The application phase runs from October 1 to November 15, 2026, followed by an evaluation period and live auditions in December. The final, decided by public SMS voting, is planned for January or February 2027. Participants must be Polish citizens and at least 18 years old by April 26, 2027. Additionally, entries must be of human creative origin to address concerns regarding artificial intelligence.
Croatia's broadcaster, HRT, has announced the terms for “Dora 2027.” Applications are accepted from September 28 to November 29, 2026. A professional jury will select 24 competing entries and four reserves. Requirements include Croatian citizenship and a minimum age of 18 by the time of the semi-final performance. Songs must be under three minutes and cannot have been previously released or performed publicly. Live vocals are mandatory, with a prohibition on pitch correction tools like Auto-Tune. The competition is scheduled for February 2027.
