Poland and Czech Republic partner to build AI gigafactories

Poland and the Czech Republic have entered a formal partnership to develop EU-funded AI “gigafactories” aimed at establishing a leading artificial intelligence computing hub in Central Europe. The agreement was formalized through a memorandum of understanding signed during the CEE AI Summit in Prague.

Warsaw is investing 400 million zlotys (approximately 93 million euros) to support the infrastructure, which is intended to house at least 75,000 AI accelerators. The two nations are exploring several operational models, including a single joint venture or two interconnected facilities split between the two countries. The latter model is currently the preferred strategy for both governments.

This bilateral initiative is part of a broader effort to build a regional computing network. Poland is currently in discussions with Lithuania, Croatia, Slovakia, and Hungary to ensure that neighboring countries can access the computing power if a primary hub is established on Polish territory.
