Poland and Czech Republic unveil new subsidies for single‑family home upgrades

Poland has launched the "Mikroretencja" grant programme, allocating 173 million zł to support owners of single‑family houses in installing rainwater collection and storage systems. Eligible households can receive up to 8,000 zł (covering up to 90 % of qualifying costs) for equipment such as gutters, storage tanks and ground‑level retention. Applications open on 22 June and are submitted electronically.

The Czech Republic has restructured its "Nová zelená úsporám" programme. It is now split into two parts: "Light" for vulnerable households, offering a direct grant of up to 400,000 CZK plus an equal‑value interest‑free loan, and a loan‑only track for other owners of family and apartment buildings. Loans range from 500,000 CZK to 2 million CZK for comprehensive renovations, with repayment periods of up to 25 years. A mandatory "renovation pass" outlines phased, energy‑efficient upgrades, aiming to bring homes to class A or B by 2050.
