Poland and Russia target 2027 Volleyball Nations League spots

Poland’s men’s volleyball team has remained a dominant force in the Nations League since its introduction in 2018, staying on the podium for every edition and finishing the latest round in second place. Despite injuries to several key players, the squad still boasts strong performers such as Bartłomiej Bołądź, Bartłomiej Lemański and Szymon Jakubiszaka, keeping Poland among the favorites for the upcoming season.

The Russian Volleyball Federation has formally applied to re‑enter the Nations League, seeking participation from the 2027 season after a suspension that followed Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Federation secretary‑general Aleksandr Jariomienko said the men’s team is ranked third globally and the women’s ninth, positioning both squads for likely inclusion once FIVB completes its technical review.
