Poland and United States deepen military space cooperation

Polish Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk met with U.S. Space Force commander B. Chance Saltzman in Warsaw on 7 July 2026. The two sides signed a Statement of Intent that expands bilateral cooperation in the space domain, covering military satellite communications, space‑situational awareness, navigation‑warfare protection, space‑control and early‑missile‑warning systems.

Tomczyk announced that Poland, which had no satellites at the end of 2023, expects to operate eleven satellites by the end of the current year and is establishing the Geospatial Intelligence Agency (ARGUS) and a Satellite Operations Centre (COS). The United States pledged training, exercises and interoperability support, while also backing Poland’s participation in a European PAC‑3 missile‑servicing centre together with Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. The agreement is framed as a contribution to NATO’s eastern flank security and a $140‑150 billion investment in Polish defence capabilities.
