Poland announces COVID-19 vaccination guidelines for 2026/2027 season

The Polish Ministry of Health has released guidelines for the 2026/2027 epidemic season regarding COVID-19 vaccinations. The program remains free for eligible patients, with vaccine procurement funded by the state budget and the National Health Fund (NFZ) covering medical qualification and administration costs.

The primary vaccine for this season is the single-dose Spikevax XFG by Moderna. For individuals aged 12 and older, the standard dose is 0.5 ml, though those with severe immunodeficiency may receive an additional dose after a two-month interval. Children aged 6 months to 4 years follow different protocols depending on their vaccination history.

Vaccinations in pharmacies are seeing increased participation in Poland. There are currently 2,440 pharmacy-based vaccination points across the country. Recent data shows a significant rise in vaccinations for influenza, RSV, and shingles, reflecting a growing trend of utilizing local pharmacies for preventative healthcare.
