Poland announces new financial aid for farmers and pig breeders
The Polish government is introducing new support programs for the agricultural sector. One initiative provides 400 million PLN specifically for pig breeders. This includes 300 million PLN in subsidies for sows, offering 1,000 PLN per animal, and 100 million PLN for the purchase of breeding gilts, offering 2,000 PLN per animal paid in two installments. Applications for the pig breeding support are scheduled to be submitted between October 22 and November 16, 2026.
Additionally, a new project titled ‘Investments supporting the resilience of agricultural holdings’ has been added to the government's legislative work plan. This program aims to help farmers protect production against adverse weather, energy disruptions, and market fluctuations. Eligible investments include diesel tanks, fertilizer tanks, power generators, hail protection systems, frost protection equipment for orchards, and automated vending machines for farm products.
Under this resilience program, farmers with holdings up to 300 hectares can receive up to 50,000 PLN, covering 50% of costs (or 60% for farmers under 40 years old). Water companies may also apply for up to 1 million PLN to fund drainage regulation investments.
