Poland arrests man for massive pizza delivery fraud and threats

The Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime (CBZC) in Poland has arrested a 23-year-old man from Szczecin for orchestrating a widespread pizza delivery scam. The suspect is accused of harassment, identity theft, and causing significant financial losses to numerous businesses across the country.

According to police investigations, the suspect placed hundreds of fraudulent pizza orders to random addresses in cities including Szczecin, Wrocław, Kraków, and Warsaw. These orders often utilized detailed personal information belonging to victims. Furthermore, the suspect allegedly included serious threats in the orders, such as threats of arson, kidnapping, or causing traffic accidents, causing victims to feel under constant threat.

In one instance, the individual reportedly ordered 300 pizzas valued at over 37,000 PLN (approximately $10,000). While many restaurants fulfilled the orders, resulting in financial damage, others were forced to cancel due to the sheer volume. The suspect faces up to eight years in prison.
