Poland automotive industry production declines in H1 2026

The Polish automotive industry experienced a downturn in the first half of 2026. The value of sold production for companies with more than nine employees fell by 0.5% year-over-year to 117.9 billion PLN. This decline was primarily driven by lower vehicle production, which saw a 4.3% decrease, despite a 13.2% increase in the production of trailers and semi-trailers.

Export performance also faced pressure, with automotive exports dropping 4.91% to 22.8 billion EUR compared to the same period in 2025. The contraction has impacted the labor market; employment in medium and large companies fell by 3.2%, reaching levels not seen since 2017.
