Poland automotive market: New car registrations reach record levels
In 2025, Poland recorded 597,435 new passenger car registrations, marking an 8.3% increase compared to 2024. While the market for new vehicles is growing, the average age of registered cars in the country has risen to 15.3 years.
Imported used vehicles remain more prevalent, with approximately 857,500 units brought in from abroad. However, the gap between new car sales and used imports is narrowing. In 2009, there were roughly 2.7 used imports for every new car; by 2025, that ratio dropped to 1.4.
The Association of Automobile Dealers suggests that new car registrations and used imports could reach parity by 2027. Data shows that between 2016 and 2025, new car registrations grew by 43.6%, while used car imports decreased by 9.9%. Of the new registrations in 2025, 411,000 were made by institutional clients, while 186,000 were by private individuals.
