Poland baby name rankings released for 2026
Data released by the Ministry of Digital Affairs reveals the most popular names given to children in Poland during the first half of 2026. The ranking shows shifting preferences among parents, with some names returning to popularity after being rare in previous years.
For girls, Zofia remains the most popular name, followed by Zuzanna and Maja. Other names in the top ten include Hanna, Laura, Oliwia, Pola, Julia, Alicja, and Antonina, which saw a significant rise from 13th place.
Among boys, Nikodem holds the top position, followed by Antoni and Jan. The ranking for boys also includes Leon, Franciszek, Aleksander, Ignacy, Stanisław, Jakub, and Mikołaj.
Regarding second names, traditional choices remain dominant. For boys, the most frequent second names are Jan, Piotr, and Józef, while for girls, Maria, Anna, and Zofia continue to be the most common selections.
