Poland: Barriers to autism and ADHD diagnosis access
A woman in Poland named Marta shared her experience of struggling to access mental health services after receiving a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and ADHD. Despite feeling different throughout her life, she faced significant barriers to professional support.
Marta noted that private therapy is financially inaccessible, with private diagnoses costing up to 1,000 PLN, while waiting times for services through the National Health Fund (NFZ) are extremely long. She highlighted the difficulty of managing these conditions while also caring for a child with a disability.
