Poland begins construction on major indoor ski slope in Babica

Construction has officially commenced on Poland’s first year-round, fully covered ski slope in Babica, near Wadowice. Preparatory work, including forest clearing on a wooded hillside, was confirmed in mid-September.

The project, which has been revived after several delays since 2018, received its building permit in June 2026. The planned facility features a 27,000-square-meter hall designed to accommodate up to 2,000 people. The indoor run will maintain a constant temperature between -2°C and -5°C using a specialized cooling and artificial snowmaking system.

Beyond the ski slope, the development includes a large-scale tourism and leisure complex on a four-hectare plot. This complex is expected to feature a luxury hotel, an aquapark with indoor and outdoor sections, restaurants, shops, and family play areas.
