Poland boosts water tourism with revived Szczecin tram route and Sopot marina renovation

A seasonal water tram service on the Szczecin Lagoon has been relaunched with direct routes to Świnoujście starting 1 August. The new schedule includes Szczecin – Stepnica – Trzebież – Szczecin and Świnoujście – Trzebież – Nowe Warpno – Świnoujście. Organisers cite passenger demand – 5,876 riders used the pilot line in 2025 – and have adjusted the timetable after early‑season feedback. The project, overseen by Starosta Shivan Fate, continues the "Queen of Szczecin"‑operated tram‑water service that began last summer.

In parallel, the city of Sopot is undertaking a major overhaul of its marina and pier, a €6.7 million (≈6.7 mln zł) investment largely funded by EU regional programmes (about €4.6 million). The upgrade will add 18 new berths, including five for yachts over 8 m, improve accessibility for people with disabilities with a special crane and other facilities, and install a laundry service. Completion is scheduled for December 2028, aiming to enhance safety and attract more sailing and tourism activity on the Baltic coast.
