Poland builds heritage centres in Miedziana Góra and Dąbrowa Górnicza
The municipality of Miedziana Góra will construct a Cultural and Natural Heritage Centre on a site next to the town hall. The 14.5 million‑złoty project, slated to start in 2027 and finish by November 2028, will host exhibitions, workshops, a library and a public conference hall. A reinforced underground shelter is planned to protect around 200 people for up to 48 hours, equipped with sleeping, sanitary and food‑preparation facilities. The town already has 4 million zł of EU support and will seek additional state funding.
In Dąbrowa Górnicza, the former Ponar‑Defum machine‑tool factory is being transformed into the "Fabryka Pełna Życia" (Factory Full of Life) cultural hub. The revamp, financed with 7.72 million zł from a public tender and supplemented by roughly 4.2 million zł of EU funds, will create indoor public spaces, a stage, a rain‑water tank, and refurbish basement ceilings and a former boiler house. The project aims to provide a new central gathering point for the city and preserve industrial heritage.
