Poland butter prices see decline after 2024 peaks

Butter prices in Poland have experienced significant volatility, moving from record highs in late 2024 to a downward trend in early 2025. After prices surged by over 54% in October 2024, reaching a peak average of 8.99 PLN per unit in December, the market has seen a correction. By April 2025, the average price dropped to 5.45 PLN.

Experts attribute these fluctuations to milk market conditions, increased supply, and intense competition among retail chains. While current trends show lower costs for consumers, market analysts warn that this relief may be temporary. There are projections that prices could rise again in the second half of the year, potentially reaching between 6 and 7 PLN per unit during the pre-holiday period.
