Poland celebrates Independence Day with local events

Various local events are scheduled in Poland to commemorate National Independence Day on November 11.

In Gniezno, the ninth edition of the ‘Herosi Niepodległości’ (Heroes of Independence) competition will take place. This event, held under the patronage of the Wielkopolska Voivode, invites educational institutions from across the Wielkopolska province to participate. The competition aims to engage young people in discovering and interpreting Polish history through creative expression. Submissions are accepted until October 27, with the final scheduled for November 11.

In Jelenia Góra, the city will host the Independence Run (Bieg Niepodległości). The program includes 5 km and 10 km street races starting at dusk from Plac Ratuszowy, as well as the ‘Bieg Małego Bohatera’ (Little Hero Run) for children and youth aged 2 to 14. The athletic events are designed to provide a family-oriented way to celebrate the national holiday.
