Poland celebrates National Education Day with local awards
Across various municipalities in Poland, local governments, school directors, and officials held ceremonies to celebrate National Education Day. These events served to honor teachers, school administrators, and support staff for their dedication to education and the development of younger generations.
In cities such as Krosno, Suwałki, Mielec, and Tomaszów Mazowiecki, as well as in various rural communes like Barwicze, Krobia, and Michałów, awards were presented to educators for their professional achievements and pedagogical commitment. Some municipalities, like Krosno, provided significant monetary awards, while others focused on honorary distinctions and certificates.
The celebrations often included artistic performances by students, speeches from local leaders, and recognition of long-serving staff members. Beyond local ceremonies, the day also carries historical significance, commemorating the establishment of the first Ministry of National Education in Europe in 1773.
