Poland celebrates National Safe Driver Day on July 25, 2026

Poland observed the 21st National Safe Driver Day on 25 July 2026, coinciding with the feast of St Christopher, the patron saint of drivers. The event was organised by the National Chaplain of Drivers, Fr Marian Midura, rally driver Krzysztof Hołowczyc and the Foundation Kierowca Bezpieczny, urging road users to drive responsibly and respect life.

Key celebrations took place at the parish of St Rafał Kalinowski in Mrągowo, where a mass was followed by a blessing of drivers and vehicles, including those of police, fire services and the army. Additional programmes featured a safety rally, a “day without fines” police action and the distribution of helmets to cyclists.

In Białystok, the parish of St B. Lament held a special service to honour St Christopher, blessed drivers and collected donations for missionary transport projects. Both locations emphasized prayer, community participation and the promotion of safe driving on the nation’s roads.
