Poland celebrates transport history with vintage trains and trams

Historical public transport celebrations are taking place in Poland. In Poznań, a century-old Borsig Bn2t steam locomotive (number 11458) will return to the narrow-gauge track between Maltanka and Zwierzyniec for Steam Days on September 12 and 13. Originally built in Berlin in 1925, the locomotive has served various industrial sites before being restored for passenger service on the Maltanka line.

In Kraków, MPK Kraków is organizing a parade on September 20 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the city's electric trams. The procession will travel from the Podgórze depot to the Nowa Huta depot, featuring a collection of vintage and modern trams from various Polish cities, including Warsaw, Wrocław, and Gdańsk, as well as international models from Nuremberg, Vienna, and Düsseldorf. The event includes displays of historic buses and special routes through Nowa Huta.
