Poland commemorates 10th anniversary of Family Rights Day
Parliamentary teams in the Sejm held a joint session to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Family Rights Day in Poland. The event included the Parliamentary Team for the Heritage of Saint John Paul II, the Parliamentary Team for Catholic Social Teaching, and the Parliamentary Team for Life and Family.
During the session, Professor Bogdan Chazan, Vice President of the Catholic Association of Polish Physicians, discussed the psychological and social consequences of abortion, describing it as having “toxic consequences” for mothers, families, and medical personnel. He argued that medicine is not morally neutral and should focus on protecting life and reducing suffering.
The anniversary celebrations also included a national conference titled “Family as the Foundation of the Nation and State” held at Oporów Castle. Tadeusz Woźniak, Chairman of the Parliamentary Team for Catholic Social Teaching, emphasized the need to fight for the rights of the family as a fundamental social unit. A letter from President Karol Nawrocki was read by advisor Beata Kempa, expressing support for strong families and criticizing ideologies that oppose parental authority.
