Poland commemorates centennial milestones of Małusy Wielkie volunteer fire brigade and police district officers

On 4 July 2026, the community of Małusy Wielkie celebrated the 100th anniversary of its volunteer fire brigade, founded in 1909. The ceremony began with a field mass, flag‑raising and a minute of silence for fallen members, followed by award presentations to long‑serving firefighters and performances by a local brass band and youth orchestra.

In the same year, Poland marked the centenary of the district police officer (dzielnicowy) role established by orders in August 1926. The historic position, introduced to provide administrative oversight and local policing in densely populated districts, is described as having significant authority within the interwar police structure, including duties such as gathering local information, assisting investigations and supervising district matters.
