Poland commemorates legacies of Marek Kotański and Marek Grechuta
Commemorations are being held in Poland to honor the legacies of Marek Kotański and Marek Grechuta.
In Pabianice, supporters and associates gathered to mark the 24th anniversary of the death of Marek Kotański, the founder of the Monar and Markotu organizations. Kotański established 83 facilities for the homeless and alcoholics, as well as 30 facilities for drug addicts. The ceremony included the lighting of candles and a tribute at his monument, highlighting his lifelong mission to help those struggling with addiction.
In Wrocław, a musical evening is scheduled at the Stary Klasztor to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of Marek Grechuta, a prominent figure in Polish music known for blending poetry, jazz, and rock. The concert will feature various vocalists performing his most famous works, including ‘Dni, których nie znamy’ and ‘Korowód’, to celebrate his enduring influence on the nation's musical history.
