Poland conducts emergency response and disaster preparedness drills
Emergency services in Poland have conducted large-scale training exercises to test response capabilities for various disasters.
In Nowy Sącz, the “Skansen 2026” drill took place at the Sądecki Park Etnograficzny. The simulation involved responding to a wooden building fire, conducting search and rescue operations for two missing persons in a forest, and evacuating cultural heritage items from danger zones. The exercise included cooperation between the State Fire Service, police, and mountain rescue groups.
In the Połaniec municipality, the “Fala 2026” exercises focused on flood response and management. Conducted near the Wisła and Czarna rivers, the drills involved firefighters, rescue services, and administrative officials to test coordination and decision-making processes during flood threats. Local authorities warned of potential traffic disruptions due to the movement of emergency vehicles and equipment.
