Poland to Conduct Nationwide Siren Test on July 21, 2026 under “ALARM 2026” Exercise

On Tuesday, 21 July 2026, Poland will carry out a nationwide emergency‑warning drill called “ALARM 2026” (also referred to as “ALARM‑26”). From 07:00 to 19:00 the country’s sirens will sound, first a three‑minute modulated tone to announce the alarm, followed by a three‑minute continuous tone to cancel it. A backup test is scheduled for 22 July if conditions require it. The exercise, ordered by the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in cooperation with the Governmental Security Centre and the Ministry of Defence, aims to verify the functioning of the public warning system, the flow of information among national and local authorities, and the technical reliability of the sirens. Residents are asked to stay calm, treat the signals as a drill, and avoid calling emergency numbers. Local notices in towns such as Chojnice, Dębno, Baranów and Rawicz repeat this guidance and mention supplementary alerts via SMS/RCB/RSO. All signals are explicitly non‑operational and will not indicate a real threat.
