Polish police and firefighters roll out safety campaigns for children, scouts and farmers

Police officers in Gdańsk met with children and teenagers to teach summer safety, covering water safety, road rules, proper use of the emergency number 112 and the dangers of false calls. The sessions emphasized staying with groups, avoiding unapproved swimming spots, using reflective gear and helmets when cycling or riding scooters, and safe behaviour at home and in public spaces.

In Lower Silesia, officers from Jelenia Góra visited a scout summer camp in Strużnica to inspect conditions, discuss weather monitoring, evacuation procedures and risks specific to forests and mountains. They reminded the scouts of water safety, proper conduct in the woods, and road safety, including the use of high‑visibility clothing and protective helmets.

Authorities in Gniezno County, together with the Agricultural Inspection (PIP), the State Treasury for Agriculture (KRUS) and local fire services, launched a campaign reminding farmers of safe harvest practices, stressing the use of protective equipment and safe handling of machinery.

A nationwide gathering of 1,998 firefighters from across Poland highlighted the profession’s role in lifesaving rescues, reinforcing public awareness of fire safety and the importance of swift emergency response.
