Poland considers legislative changes to healthcare access
Proposed legislative updates in Poland aim to expand priority access to medical services for specific groups. A project by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy seeks to grant children in foster care and adopted children priority access to healthcare, though the proposal excludes cases where a spouse adopts the other spouse's child.
Additionally, parliamentary work is underway regarding the Military Family Card. This proposal would grant priority access to healthcare facilities managed by the military and the Ministry of Interior and Administration for soldiers, officers, and their eligible family members. These changes would apply specifically to departmental facilities rather than all National Health Fund (NFZ) providers.
In the context of current medical practices, online gynecological consultations are increasingly used in cities like Warsaw for discussing existing test results and documentation. However, experts note that remote consultations cannot replace physical examinations, such as ultrasounds or cervical checks, which require in-person visits.
