Poland coordinates regional security with Estonia, Finland, and NATO partners

Polish officials held high-level security discussions with representatives from Estonia and Finland to address regional threats, including illegal migration and Russian hybrid aggression. Minister Marcin Kierwiński noted that approximately 3 billion PLN in investments—including electronic barriers, physical security lines, and anti-drone systems—has contributed to a significant decrease in migration pressure, reporting no illegal crossings in the first half of 2026.

The discussions also focused on hybrid tactics such as sabotage in defense industry factories, airspace violations by Russian missiles, and cyberattacks on critical infrastructure. Strengthening information exchange and regional cooperation is a priority to counter these provocations.

At the Warsaw Security Forum, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski emphasized that Europe must develop the military strength necessary to defend international law and its own interests. He highlighted the growing Baltic-Nordic cooperation as a model for building a strong regional wing of NATO and stressed that economic potential must be converted into credible defense capabilities to ensure deterrence.
