Poland: Court verdict issued in Trzaskowski rally disturbance

A Poznań court has issued a verdict regarding an incident that occurred during a 2025 presidential campaign rally for Rafał Trzaskowski. Four individuals associated with the Maltańskie housing estate were found guilty of disturbing a public assembly and received a reprimand. They were acquitted of other charges, and the state will cover the legal costs. The verdict is not final.

The incident involved protesters from the Maltańskie estate who attempted to question Trzaskowski during his rally at Freedom Square. While residents claimed they were treated aggressively by security and police, authorities stated that eight individuals were removed for disrupting the peace through shouting and noise.

Nawrocki described the atmosphere as chaotic, involving scuffles with security, and claimed that Trzaskowski appeared emotionally broken and unable to handle the pressures of the campaign during their encounter.
