Poland defense debates focus on military spending and survival preparedness

Discussions regarding national security and individual preparedness in Poland have highlighted different approaches to defense. Janusz Korwin-Mikke has advocated for prioritizing military spending over other expenditures, while expressing concerns that implementing conscription could lead to a lack of motivation among soldiers. He suggested that qualitative changes in the state are occurring, comparing the current political trajectory to a gradual return to the structures of the former People's Republic of Poland.

In a separate perspective on civil defense, survival expert Grzegorz Kołakowski, founder of Warmia Survival, emphasized the importance of practical preparedness over theoretical training. He argued that government resources might be better spent on providing essential items like water filters rather than safety manuals. Kołakowski criticized common mistakes in emergency kits, noting that many pre-packaged survival bags contain inadequate equipment for real-world scenarios, such as military actions or urban sieges.
