Poland drives new construction projects: Holiday Inn hotel in Warsaw and first municipal nursery in Marki

An eight‑storey skeletal building on Sobieskiego Street in Warsaw, vacant for nearly two decades, is being converted into a Holiday Inn Express & Suites. The project, led by general contractor UNIBEP, follows the removal of a large façade advertisement and is on schedule to open at the end of 2027 with 364 rooms, a glass façade, lobby bar, restaurant, conference facilities and a top‑floor jacuzzi.

In the town of Marki, the first municipal nursery (Żłobek Miejski nr 1) on Zygmuntowska Street has completed its construction phase and is undergoing final technical inspections. Funded with over 11 million zł from the National Recovery Plan and part of the "Aktywny Maluch 2022‑2029" programme, the facility is set to open in September 2026, offering early‑child care for children up to three years old. Recruitment of children is already underway.
