Poland: Economic pressures affect Gen Z and Millennials

A Deloitte report highlights significant financial challenges facing young adults in Poland. Approximately 41% of Generation Z and 46% of Millennials live paycheck to paycheck. Key concerns include the rising cost of living and housing accessibility, with 59% of Generation Z and 52% of Millennials viewing homeownership as difficult or impossible to achieve.

Financial instability is also delaying major life decisions, such as starting families or pursuing further education, for over half of these age groups. Additionally, young Poles report higher levels of anxiety regarding geopolitical tensions and armed conflicts compared to their global peers.

Parallel to these economic pressures, there is a shift in how young people acquire specialized knowledge. Half of Generation Z in Poland learns about personal finance through social media, with 67% of those aged 18–26 preferring short-form content on platforms like YouTube and TikTok. This trend shows that individual influencers are increasingly becoming the primary point of contact for expert information, often competing directly with traditional institutions and established professionals.
