Poland fuel prices decrease under government CPN program
Fuel prices in Poland are seeing a downward trend due to the third phase of the Ceny Paliwa Niżej (CPN) program. Under this government initiative, maximum retail prices for gasoline and diesel are being periodically lowered through early November 2026. Recent announcements from the Ministry of Energy indicate that the price caps for 95-octane gasoline, 98-octane gasoline, and diesel are continuing to decline.
The CPN program is funded by a new tax on the excess profits of fuel companies, which can reach up to 60 percent of extraordinary gains. This mechanism also involves temporary reductions in VAT and excise duties to protect consumers from market volatility. While gasoline and diesel prices are falling, LPG (autogas) prices have been rising, with averages approaching or exceeding 4 PLN per liter in some regions, as LPG is not covered by the CPN price cap protections.
Failure to comply with the established maximum price limits can result in penalties of up to 1 million PLN for fuel retailers.
