Poland Enforces Strict Protection for Over 300 Mushroom Species

Poland's Ministry of Environment has placed more than 300 mushroom species under strict or partial protection, prohibiting their collection. Violations can result in on‑spot fines of up to 500 zł, rising to a court‑imposed penalty of up to 5,000 zł. Protected species include the royal bolete (Boletus regius), satanic bolete (Boletus satanas), and several rare fungi.
