Poland EV market faces infrastructure and battery concerns
A report by OTOMOTO titled ‘Faktor E’ reveals that interest in electric vehicles (EVs) in Poland remains stagnant at 35%, a figure significantly lower than in England (69%), Portugal (67%), and Spain (65%). While the total number of electric vehicles on Polish roads reached 157,000 by the end of July 2026, consumers show a stronger preference for hybrid engines, which are favored by 52% of those considering a purchase, compared to only 26% for fully electric models.
Infrastructure remains a primary obstacle. Although 54% of Polish drivers live in single-family homes, 47% of respondents reported they lack the ability to charge a vehicle at their primary parking location, the highest rate among the ten markets analyzed.
In the used car market, significant barriers exist. Only 27% of respondents are considering a used EV, with the main concerns being battery condition and longevity (57%) and repair costs (47%). The report suggests that increased transparency, such as battery health certification, could help overcome these consumer hesitations.
