Wrocław expands bus fleet with 95 new vehicles, boosting electric and climate‑controlled transport
The Municipal Transport Company of Wrocław (MPK) has added 95 new buses to its fleet, bringing the total number of vehicles purchased to 128. The deliveries include Mercedes‑Benz Conecto articulated buses, standard and short‑wheelbase Citaro models, as well as electric Solaris and Mercedes‑Benz eCitaro units.
Since 2023, 28 electric buses have entered service, representing roughly 9 % of the city's fleet and supporting the shift toward Euro 6 compliance and zero‑emission transport. Climate control has been installed on the new buses, although about 13 % of the overall fleet still lacks air‑conditioning. The modernization has reduced the average age of the fleet to under five years.
MPK plans further acquisitions, with contracts for 100 additional Mercedes‑Benz Conecto buses, 20 electric Mercedes models and 40 new Solaris vehicles, aiming to replace older units and meet stricter environmental standards.
