Poland expands and boosts subsidies in the Czyste Powietrze programme

From 20 July 2026 the national “Czyste Powietrze” (Clean Air) programme will operate under a revised set of rules. The changes make grant access easier for a larger group of households by widening the ownership‑period exception catalogue and allowing owners who acquired property by inheritance, donation or adverse possession to qualify. Maximum subsidy rates for thermal‑modernisation works rise by about 10 percent, covering wall, roof, floor insulation as well as window, door and garage‑gate replacement.

Applicants benefiting from pre‑financing now have up to 180 days (instead of 120) to complete the covered works, and a broader range of professionals may certify the technical documents required for grant approval. The programme will stop supporting electric heating systems other than heat‑pump technology from 2027. Municipalities such as Baranów are distributing information about the new rules to residents.

Overall, the reforms aim to accelerate the phase‑out of coal‑ and wood‑burning heaters, improve building energy efficiency, and simplify the administrative procedures for households seeking financial aid.
