Poland expands digital mLegitymacja for volunteer fire brigades

Following a pilot in the Opole voivodeship, Poland has extended the mLegitymacja digital credential to three additional regions – Subcarpathian, Pomeranian and Podlaskie. The mobile document, issued through the mObywatel app, confirms the identity and firefighting qualifications of volunteer fire brigade members who receive rescue benefits.

The Gmina Żukowo in the Pomeranian voivodeship has now received system access, allowing the municipal office to receive and process applications from local OSP members. Officials, including the mayor and representatives of the State Fire Service, attended a launch meeting to finalize technical and procedural arrangements. Approved applicants will obtain the mLegitymacja, which contains personal data such as name, photo, PESEL number and validity dates, and can be verified like other documents in the app.
