Poland expands disability support allowance for 2026

In 2026, Poland has expanded access to the support allowance for persons with disabilities. The benefit is now available to individuals who have obtained a support need score between 70 and 100 points, as determined by the Voivodeship Disability Assessment Teams (WZON).

The monthly payment amount is tied to the social pension rate, which as of March 1, 2026, stands at 1,978.49 PLN gross. The specific amount depends on the assigned points:

• 95–100 points: 2,200% of the social pension (approx. 4,353 PLN) • 90–94 points: 180% of the social pension (approx. 3,562 PLN) • 85–89 points: 120% of the social pension (approx. 2,375 PLN) • 80–84 points: approx. 1,583 PLN • 75–79 points: approx. 1,187 PLN • 70–74 points: approx. 791 PLN

To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold Polish or EU/EFTA citizenship, reside legally in Poland, and have access to the labor market. Applications must be submitted online via PUE ZUS, Emp@tia, or electronic banking. Having a moderate degree of disability does not automatically grant this benefit; a separate decision regarding the support need score is required.
