Poland expands first‑aid volunteer program and free training courses

The "Pierwszy Ratownik" (First Responder) program in Poland links modern technology with trained volunteers to provide immediate assistance before emergency services arrive. Using geolocation, the app notifies nearby certified individuals, directs them to the incident site and the nearest AED. Adults with first‑aid certification can join via free Android and iOS applications, strengthening a nationwide network of citizen responders.

The city of Zamość has extended enrollment for a free pre‑medical first‑aid course aimed at caregivers of dependent persons. The training is part of the EU‑funded "Blisko domu" project, which creates new local care services. Applications are accepted until the participant group is full, and the course is offered through the municipal partnership with the surrounding gmina.
