Polish National Health Fund launches free mammography mobile units across multiple regions in August 2026
The National Health Fund (NFZ) is offering free mammography screenings to women aged 45‑74 across Poland, without the need for a doctor's referral and scheduled every two years. Mobile “mammobus” units will travel to numerous towns in August 2026, bringing the service closer to residents.
In the Kościerzyn county the bus will stop on 17‑18 August in Nowa Karczma, Kościerzyna, Dziemiany, Liniewo and Stara Kiszewa. In Bochnia county it will be available on 5 August in Bochnia, Trzciana, Nowy Wiśnicz, Łapanów and Lipnica Murowana. Krakow will host the unit on 7, 9, 10 and 23 August at several shopping‑centre locations. The Rembertów district of Warsaw will have a stop on 4 August at the district office. Registration is possible by phone (58 767 34 44) or by e‑mail (rejestracja@genevatrust.pl). The programme cites studies showing that regular mammography can lower breast‑cancer mortality by roughly 25‑30 % and notes that the diagnostic quality of the mobile unit matches that of stationary clinics.
