Poland expands logistics capacity through Silesia and Szczecin hubs
Poland is seeing significant growth in its logistics sector, with the Silesia region emerging as a major national hub. Due to its strategic location, extensive road infrastructure including the A1 and A4 motorways, and proximity to the Czech and Slovak borders, Silesia has become a critical point for production, transshipment, and distribution. This development particularly impacts the automotive, metal, machinery, and electronics industries, which rely on precise supply chain timing.
Simultaneously, Szczecin is establishing itself as a vital logistics center near the German border. The city ranked first in the 2026 ‘Beyond the Hubs’ report by Accolade, REDD, and Michael Page, highlighting its capacity for international cross-border trade. Logistics companies like Dachser are expanding operations in the area, recently opening new transshipment terminals and contract logistics warehouses to meet growing demand and facilitate access to developed European markets.
