Poland adds digital diplomas and e‑voting to mObywatel app

The Polish Ministry of Digitisation announced that, following a regulation adopted by the Council of Ministers, the mObywatel mobile application will gain access to a broader set of public registers. New services will let users display digital versions of university diplomas—including doctoral and habilitation degrees—alongside professional certificates for medical rescuers, geodesists, cartographers and property appraisers.

Drivers will be able to check the status of their trial period, any court‑imposed driving bans and other licensing details. The app will also integrate basic address data from the Central Land Register and the Central Business Registry, enabling users to view property information. In addition, the platform will support electronic signatures of support for election candidates at presidential, parliamentary and European levels, with election committees receiving real‑time statistics.

The rollout will be gradual; the number of active mObywatel users has already risen to 12 million—doubling over the past 2½ years—and the app has added around 89 new services since its launch.
