Poland expands pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure through regional investments

Poland is seeing significant investments in pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure across different regions. In Ropczyce, a contract has been signed with Eurovia Polska to construct over 3 km of new paths near Skorodeckiego Street. The project, costing approximately 4.2 million PLN, is part of a larger sustainable mobility initiative for the Dębica-Ropczyce Functional Area. The investment is 80% funded by the European Funds for Podkarpacie 2021–2027 program, with construction expected to be completed within 12 months.

In a separate large-scale project, the budget for developing a network of paths around Lake Żywieckie and Lake Międzybrodzkie has increased to over 205 million PLN. This expansion includes more than 40 km of infrastructure designed to connect Żywiec, Łodygowice, and Czernichów. The updated budget reflects a 28.5 million PLN increase from the original 2024 version, with nearly 100 million PLN allocated specifically to tasks within the city of Żywiec. The project aims to support both local daily commuting and regional tourism through zero-emission mobility.
