Poland expands public health vaccination programs

New public health vaccination programs are being implemented in Poland. In the Wieliczka district, a program targeting pertussis (whooping cough) will be available through 2026. This initiative is designed for adults who have not received a pertussis vaccination in the last ten years, as well as 19-year-olds seeking an alternative to standard Td vaccines. The program is funded by the Małopolska Voivodeship, Wieliczka County, and the Wieliczka Municipality, with administration handled by Centrum Medyczne Wieliczka.

Separately, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has announced the expansion of the free HPV vaccination program. Starting October 1, 2026, the program includes young adults aged 18 to 26. To qualify for the full series, the first dose must be administered before the individual turns 25. The program utilizes the Cervarix vaccine and is scheduled to fund this specific age group until May 31, 2027.
